Teensy 4.0

Hello everyone,

I hope you're doing well. I'm currently exploring the transition from using 2x Teensy 4.0 boards to designing a PCB based on the i.MX RT1170 (MIMXRT1176DVMAA) microcontroller for my project. The project involves the use of buttons, potentiometers, sensors, LEDs and a screen.

I'm seeking advice, recommendations, or insights from anyone who has experience or knowledge about i.MX RT1170.

Thank you all in advance for your time and support!

Hi Isaac,

You may want to take a look at the NXP RT1170 evaluation kit (MIMXRT1170-EVKB @ $182.25 USD), which is well documented and may give you some ideas:
https://www.nxp.com/part/MIMXRT1170-EVKB
Via this link can you find a lot of documentation about this eval kit, including all relevant design files such as schematics, PCB files, etc.

What may also be interesting is a board from AVNET called the MaaxBoard RT. It features an RT1176 processor and may get close to what you have in mind. Of course it is not a Teensy board, but it may give you some insight about to how they integrated things and potentially give you some ideas for your own development project. Here is the link:
https://www.avnet.com/wps/portal/us.../avnet-board-families/maaxboard/maaxboard-rt/
For all the features that are included, I think the price of approx. $145 USD is very reasonable and it may be a great opportunity to get some hands-on experience while waiting for any future (?) Teensy with a processor from the RT1170 family.
