Codeblocks w/ Teensyduino 1.56+?

Hi all,
for many years, I was pretty content using the Arduino IDE to write code for the Teensy. I used PlatformIO and then the VS Code extension for Arduino until it went out of support. So now I am back to using the Arduino IDE, which is fine for small stuff. I find platform IO cumbersome and have discovered Codeblocks.
I saw there was an arduino default project, but haven't had a lot of luck setting it up. I found a thread for setting up w/ Teensyduino 1.2, for Teensy3.X, but not having much luck getting it setup for 1.56.
Am I on a wild goose chase w/ Codeblocks?

I've never looked at Codeclocks but would not VisualMicro (Arduino IDE for Visual Studio) with Visual Studio (Community Edition) not help solve your problem?
This is what I use all the time. In my case with Arduino 1.8.19 but it will work with Arduino 2.x.

Funny you should mention that. I used Visual Micro a while ago and I looked at it again just yesterday. :)
Just that it costs money. I fired off an email to them to see if I actually bought a license.
I started my trial and I am thinking VM is the way to go. but, if there codeblocks working w/ Teensyduino is currently supported, I'd like to get it working for my own education.
