Next step after successful prototyping?

Hi everyone.

I have used quite a few different prototyping boards through the years.
I now have a project that I would like to make into my own board.

If I design my own pcb that uses the teensy 4 processor. Can anyone point me to literature on how i flash the chip or how I go about it, for e.g. I know teensy has its own bootloader. Will I need to make one?

I already have a prototype board made where I have headers for the teensy 4. However I really want to shrink the project so I'd like to ideally use the processor and scrap the rest, I just don't know if I can just flash my hex file and all will be good.

Sorry for what may seem an odd question but surely some people progress from prototyping to some kind of actual manufacture.

Pretty sure You can buy the bootloader PROM from pjrc. I think it's pretty affordable, too.

An in-between option is the Sparkfun Teensy MicroMod which might help depending on the volume you are looking at and just how small you need it to be.

Also note there have been some quality issues and at the moment the Sparkfun site is showing it as on Backorder.
